Look How I've Grown

After having Halley, I realized that I didn't have very many pictures of myself from my pregnancy. I'm doing much better this time. Here are some pics of my progress.

Not one of my faves, nevertheless, it is me.

My mom bought me that dress for about $10 at my favorite store in the whole wide world, MACY'S!

This is me about 5 days ago at 18 weeks. I got that shirt for $8 at JCPenney! The regular price was $36. I also got about 5 or 6 other shirts and a pair of capris for $3 each at the same sale! Now that's the way I like to shop.

Because Children Are A Blessing

I made this diaper cake for a lady at my church who is expecting her 2nd child. Her son is 10. I told a friend about this lady's story and she responded, "Well, why would she go and do that?" I replied, "Because children are a blessing from the Lord and the fruit of the womb is a reward." She said, "Oh, that's a good reason."
Sometimes, we just have to point people to the truth.

More Gardening Fun

My garden is growing like crazy. It is so amazing to me. I'm a city girl, so I've never seen anything grow before...until this summer. Take a look at what God has done.

We're Having...

A precious boy and a girl!!! What a blessing. We will have 2 girls (including our sweet Halley) and one boy ages 2 and under by Christmas, if the Lord wills! The ultrsound we had on July 21, was so exciting. The babies were moving around a lot. Our little girl had her legs crossed for awhile, so it took some time to figure out her sex. But alas, it was a girl. Eddie is very thankful to have atleast one boy to share the house with. I'm doing fine and steadily growing. Please continue to pray for ALL of us!

Works for ME!!!

Halley is such a servant. She loves to "help" me. Yes, it takes longer for me to get the task accomplished, but it's definetly worth it to see the joy that she recieves from helping. She likes to vacuum, dust, wash clothes, and carry stuff to their designated rooms. You would think she would be worn out by the time Eddie gets home. However, as soon as she hears the alarm chime from her dad walking in the door and she rushes to greet them. He carries her to the den and she begins to serve. She helps him take of his shirt, socks, and shoes. And then she carries all of it to his closet or lays it on the bed! She's the best free help we've ever had. Check out this cute video.

Lessons Learned from Gardening

This is my first year having a garden. It's something I've been wanting to do for awhile and this year I finally did it. I have learned so many spiritual lessons over the last 2 months from these 7 little pots filled with dirt and some plants. Today, I harvested 3 tomatoes and some basil. I don't even care that 2 of the tomatoes have a few holes in them...I'm going to give them a try. I would never have bought these tomatoes from a store, but because they grew in my garden, I'm going to eat them! God is so good to have allowed me to see Him in the garden. My heart truly rejoices as I water the plants and watch what happens. Here are some parallels that I see between my spiritual life and the life of my plants.

1. Read your bible, pray everyday and you'll grow, grOW, GROW!!!

As I've watered my plants, they have grown. On the days that I forget to water them, they shrivel up a look dry and helpless. Within 1-2 hours of giving them some much needed water they sprout right up. This parallels with my life because I see that when I am in the Word of God, I grow and flourish. When I'm not spending time with the Lord, my spiritual man is left unfed and begins to thirst. If I've gone some days without spending time with the Lord and then I do, I perk up...just as my plants do when they get water. AMEN.

This was my garden on June 20, 08

2. God's rain does so much more for the plants then tap water.

I'm not sure why and how this is true, but it is. The plants seem to grow by leaps and bounds when it rains. This reminds me that what really feeds my soul is the Word of God. Yes, Christian books and sermons are good and can help me grow even as tap water does for my plants, but because the Word of God is living and active, feasting on it nourishes my soul so much more.

3. God makes the plants grow.

I do my part in watering the plants and tending to them. However, it is God that makes them grow. Apart from His grace, I would just have buckets full of dirt. In my own life, as I do my part and get in the Word, God takes it and by His Spirit produces fruit in my life.

This is my garden as of today, July 12, 08

4. Pruning is important.

I take time to remove dead foilage and troubled spots from the plants because this helps them to flourish. Likewise, I must find the troubled/sin areas of my own life and remove them from my life. These small troubling spots can suck the life from my plants and from me.

5. Growth is Exciting

Just today I saw three new tomatoes on the vine. It was so exciting to see. I was thanking the Lord as I marveled at what He had done. In my own life, it's good to see that there will be growth when I do things God's way. He is at work in my plants and in me. Praise the Lord!

As I continue to see other parallels, I will update you. If you don't have a garden, you should consider getting one. You will be amazed at what the Lord can do!

What I've been up to in Pictures

Well, I know it has been so long since I posted. I have thought so many times about things I would like to blog about, but certainly haven't done it. If I could stop reading other people's blogs, I could really do some of my own blogging! Anyway, here are some pics that will inform you of much of what has been going on with me.

1. Turned into nesting mode since learning of the upcoming twins arrival and did some much needed cleaning. I'm embarrassed to let you see my closet looked like, but hey, I'm just being real with you. I don't have it all together...imagine that!

2. Watched my friend Felisha's children while she got her hair done. This was a good time for Halley to play with some friends.

3. My parents have come to visit a couple of times. They say that they want to come every weekend when the twins arrive. I'm definetly open for that. We are going to get all the help we can get. We are so thankful that they love Bri so much and know this will continue with all our other children, as well.

4. Eddie's mom and our nieces came to visit. We enjoyed our time together.

A Shot out to my Friends

It is so wonderful to have godly friends. I feel like since we have lived in Montgomery I have grown by leaps and bounds in my relationship with the Lord because of the wonderful friends that He has given me. My peers are not just my peers, they are like the older women that Paul tells to teach the younger women. They have taught me how to love my husband and my child, how to be self-controlled, to be a worker at home, how to cultivate a lasting love for the Lord, and so much more. I just wanted to take this time to give a big cyberspace hug to my friends Nicole and Delta. Here is a picture of them with some girls from their neighborhood that they are investing their lives in for the glory of God. I love you all (Nicole, Delta, Antoinette, Monique, Nyema, Sylvia, and many others...if I left your name off please charge it to my head and not my heart). Your friendship means so much to me. Run on for the Lord, my sisters.
